Vauxhall Corsa

If you are looking for a first car for your teenager, the Vauxhall Corsa is a popular choice. Available in a range of trims depending on your taste and budget, it comes in three or five door versions and market leading boot space within its category. It is fitted with a decent amount of safety equipment as standard, including Traction Control, driver, passenger and side airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounting points and an Anti-Lock Braking System (known as ABS). It also boasts a four-star Euro NCAP crash test rating - Euro NCAP test all new cars for sale across Europe and grade them out of five stars in a number of tests such as front or side impact, passenger safety and pedestrian safety. You can learn more about Euro NCAP tests, and check your own car's performance  here.

Ford Fiesta

The Ford Fiesta is consistently the UK's best-selling car, and it's not difficult to see why! With chic styling, a huge range of trim levels and options, and frequent facelifts, the Fiesta is always right on trend for people and families of all ages. The latest Fiesta is also packed with safety technology as standard through its cheekily-named NCAP pack, which helped earn it a full five stars in its Euro NCAP test. Standard features include a tyre pressure monitor, a lane assist system that alerts you if you stray out of your lane, six airbags, automatic headlamps, a speed limiter and a seatbelt warning system. Moving up the trim levels adds even more features such as a collision detection system that automatically calls the emergency services if you have an accident.

Ford Focus

The Ford Focus is also always found in the UK bestsellers list. With a reputation for class-leading handling, an involving driving experience and a great choice of engines and spec levels to suit your budget or needs, the Focus really does have something to offer everyone. It also achieved a full five-star rating in its Euro NCAP test, making it a safe choice for your family. Its standard safety equipment list includes stability control (the next step up from traction control), ISOFIX and a raft of airbags. You can also opt for the extra Driver Assistance Pack which comes with a blind spot warning to let you know if someone's lurking out of your mirror view, lane assist and traffic sign recognition to remind you if you missed an important warning sign.

Vauxhall Astra

The Vauxhall Astra is a popular family choice with its roomy interior and boot space, and a great standard specification. There are also a range of engines and trim options to personalise it even more. As you've probably come to expect by now, the Astra achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating. If you opt for an SRi model or higher, you get the Driving Assistance Pack in the deal. This package features a lane assist system, traffic sign recognition, and autonomous braking if the car thinks it's about to be involved in a crash. There are also extra options available, such as front and rear LED headlights to make your car more visible, and help you see ahead better at night.

Nissan Qashqai

This SUV styled car sits a bit higher than your average family hatchback, giving you a better view and a more commanding driving position. It is roomy and practical, with a great standard specification and a range of trim levels and engines. It achieved... you guessed it... five stars in its Euro NCAP crash test and has a good amount of safety equipment on its kit list, depending on the trim level you choose. This includes a blind spot warning system, a system that sounds an alert if it thinks the driver is losing attention or getting sleepy, an emergency braking system that can detect cars or pedestrians ahead and traffic sign recognition.

Here at Thame Cars we specialise in all these models and we carry a large range of the most popular trim levels.
