    With the school holidays now upon us, here are our top 7 family-friendly places to visit over the Easter break within driving distance of Thame.

    1) Thame Country Show

    Minimise your driving time, and keep it local at the Thame Country Show. A quintessentially English experience with horses, hounds, racing ferrets and family entertainment. An outing that every Thamensian should do at least once in their lives. Here's some more details at


    2) Lambing at Moreton Barn

    This Easter Sunday and Monday come along and see some cute baby animals being fed and manhandled by young children. 10-4, free to attend with donations welcome to support the fabulous Helen & Douglas House. Find out more here

    3) Waddesdon Manor’s Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt

    Enjoy a peaceful afternoon at Waddesdon Manor where there are activities laid on for the whole family. Follow the clues to find the hidden treasure, help Bunny find his secret stash to earn chocolate rewards. Running from Good Friday to Easter Monday there’s plenty of time to get searching!     4) Didcot Railway Centre

    Take a ride on the footplate of ‘Tornado’, a Peppercorn A1 class Pacific 60163 locomotive. Or why not join in with their Children’s egg hunt and craft activities.     Bring some high octane adventure into your Easter holidays at Silverstone race track, the home of the British Grand Prix and now home to the greatest Easter Fun day on Sunday 27th March 2016. Track shows from the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 display team are amongst some of the main events during the day.
